Hi, I’m Margaret Pineda.

I HELP YOU RECONNECT TO YOURSELF SO YOU CAN FOCUS ON WHAT MATTERS MOST.

My experience of burnout, career frustration and sudden health issues as a new mom led me down a path of holistic healing. I studied the nervous system, breath, mind and energy and discovered that it’s possible to feel even more alive and creative after kids.

I’ve been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2012 with a focus on Craniosacral Therapy to balance the nervous system. I also offer Bio-energy Healing to uplift and open energy flow.

I bring my experience in the healing arts to my role as a Breathwork Facilitator and co-facilitate group ceremonies and private sessions in South Surrey / White Rock. I’m deeply passionate about helping others navigate life’s intense changes through the breath and body.

As a healthcare provider, I see the growing desire that people have to find a practical tool to deal with stress, trauma, and pain in their own empowered way. Breathwork offers us a path to reclaiming our energy so we can focus on the things that matter most to us.

When I’m not working, I’m gardening, doing Zumba, biking, or sipping cacao and bubble tea. I’m a mom of two nature-loving kids.

My Story

The Spacious Breath

How we breathe is how we live. The ability to breathe fully is a metaphor for life. I see it as reclaiming our space and power and being less affected by the pressures of the outside world.

The Spacious Breath is a place to feel inspired, guided and empowered. It’s a place to feel light and at ease with yourself. A place to experience beauty, simplicity and spaciousness. Here you can begin to understand your body and reclaim your energy so you can create a meaningful life. The offerings here are designed to propel you forward in a balance of service and self-love.

HERE'S THE PATH I TOOK TO LIGHT MINE.

It all started when I returned to work after maternity leave. I was juggling my career, still sleep deprived and figuring out motherhood. I felt bored as a massage therapist because every day seemed the same. I could sense that I was barely scratching the surface with clients and helpless at what to do.

Even though I had a loving family and a stable career, I felt trapped. Even when I got time alone, there was mom guilt. Binging on Netflix after my daughter went to sleep was how I coped with feeling overwhelmed, numb and restless.

The Start of My Health Symptoms

I started experiencing anxiety, eczema, and digestive issues. My health symptoms worsened. My eczema was spreading around my wrists and my stomach would cramp as my daughter woke up throughout the night. I tried an elimination diet after testing positive for a long list of food sensitivities but it had little effect so I gave it up after two months of restriction.

I was frustrated and betrayed by my body. It had also started after I made the decision to live a healthier lifestyle. I couldn’t accept this broken version of me.

Following the Breadcrumbs

Slowly I began to receive little signs from the universe. My husband brought home a book called Many Lives, Many Masters that reignited my interest in spirituality. My dental hygienist was a Bio-energy practitioner. A new friend I met taught it. An intuitive reader I saw mentioned it. The signs were everywhere.

The Road to Healing Begins

At my first Bio-energy Healing workshop, I cried for a long time. I was grieving my freedom. Along the way I had lost it as a mother and in my career. I thought if I had that much suppressed grief I didn't know about, imagine what other burnt-out parents must be holding onto.

Bio-energy healing was a gentle but powerful catalyst for healing and the first step I took in the holistic direction. I ended up doing the practitioner training and for the first time I met others on their own journey of self-discovery.

Discovering Breathwork

While at my Bio-energy training, I stumbled upon breathwork and couldn’t believe how powerful it was. There were memories I had buried that came up during my sessions and I had never connected with. Looking back, the seed was planted then, but I wasn’t ready yet to be a breathwork facilitator. It would be five years of growth before breathwork would find me again.

Exploring Tools that Heal

I studied the nervous system, organs, the mind, and energy centers which all enhanced my massage therapy practice and made it exciting again. Today craniosacral therapy is largely how I approach hands-on work as I find it deeply restorative and brings a sense of stillness.

I practiced muscle testing with Emotion Code and PSYCH-K. I studied inherited trauma with Mark Wolynn on how unresolved family pain can repeat itself, how to spot it and break the cycle.

I dove into the Gene Keys and Human Design—systems that use a combination of ancient teachings to reveal how we’re designed to thrive in life, love, and our vocations. It gave words to the parts of me I couldn’t explain—especially my multi-passionate nature—and allowed me to embrace what felt most natural while appreciating others for their uniqueness. I studied with Erin Claire Jones, who makes Human Design understandable and practical.

The Cause of My Health Symptoms

I realized the eczema was exactly where my wrists were strapped to a gurney as a baby going in for heart surgery. What looked like anxiety was really despair, helplessness and abandonment that was present my entire life. I realized it was linked to childhood trauma I had kept secret.

I was also repeating unhealed family trauma. My grandpa vanished at sea during a storm. His body was never found and my grandma never got closure. She had 4 kids and suddenly carried all the financial responsibility after being a stay-at-home mom. She had to find work which coincided with my symptoms starting when I became a working mom.

I had developed an irrational fear that something would happen to my husband and I would have to raise my daughter on my own. Now I knew why!

Eventually after all the breadcrumbs of insight, healing and a vulnerable talk with my mom, I felt a weight lift and the eczema vanished overnight after two years of appearing suddenly.

Having An Empowering Birth

I credit my healing journey to helping me have an empowering vaginal birth after c-section (VBAC). At this point I felt more supported by those around me and had way more trust in my body and what it was capable of.

I believe if women were supported during pregnancy to heal on an emotional level, we would feel safer in our bodies to navigate the changes that happen before, during and after birth. We'd also feel more whole as mothers and share the best of us with our kids—not what's left of us.

No Dreams to Chasing the Dream

As I grew in my healing work, I wanted to share it with a wider audience. I hired a business coach and burned out again trying to force things to happen. Six months and thousands of dollars later, I told myself I would grow at my own pace and only market in ways that felt natural and easy.

Rebuilding My Foundation

Looking back, I could see how I was trying to build my success on an unstable foundation. I had dreams now but my health and relationships needed deeper roots. I couldn't welcome growth if I didn't feel balanced in other areas first.

In the time that followed, I took a social media break so I could hear my own voice and reflect on what success meant to me. It was liberating not to compare myself to what others were doing. I started writing my blog, moved my body in satisfying ways, simplified my finances and created a balanced work schedule.

Breathwork Finds Me Again

As faith would have it, an amazing RMT colleague who is also a breathwork facilitator joined our team. It reminded me of all those powerful breathwork sessions I had years ago. She inspired me to explore it again. I’m currently training in Conscious Connected Breathing and learning so much. I’m also discovering there’s a different breath for every situation—exercise, connecting with others, creativity, focus, etc. so this is how I incorporate breathwork into my daily life.

Together, my colleague and I co-facilitate a monthly group ceremony that continues to grow and is a joy to be a part of. It’s been the invitation I’ve always wanted to extend to my RMT clients who have been searching for a deeper sense of healing.

Full Circle Back to the Breath

The paths I’ve explored all took me back to my own breath. It’s so simple, so foundational, and so overlooked. It’s the bridge that connects to all the other aspects I’ve studied—the body, mind, spirit and energy centers. It’s the one tool that’s instantly accessible, relatable, and free. How we breathe is how we live. And if you told me this years ago, I would have thought it’s too simple and boring.

Just by watching someone breathe, you can see their habitual patterns and where they’re holding themselves back in life. In the RMT profession, so often we go to postural exercises, strengthening and stretching. But that’s only a fraction of daily living. Breathing is the one thing that we’re always doing but is often non-optimal. When we practice breath awareness and conscious breathing, we make different inner choices which lead to outer changes.

Do Less but Better.

When I feel discomfort now, I simply allow it and put some space around it. I breathe and notice what shows up. From that place, the right next step shows up, which is all I really need to know.

I'm here to help you reclaim your space and make peace with yourself as an imperfect human doing the best you can. This is radical authenticity and unconditional love in action, which is really unconditional attention with all the parts of us.

How would it feel to stop waiting to evolve into your healed, authentic self and realizing that this current version of you is worthy of all the love as it grows?

When we start to forgive ourselves for being “behind”, we can welcome a spacious breath and watch as the universe helps us create the life we want—minus the struggle and pressure.
