How I Healed Eczema and Found Purpose Again
I spent two exhausting years as a new mom battling anxiety, burnout, IBS—and eczema on my hands and wrists. I tried food sensitivity testing, elimination diets, acupuncture, and other therapies—yet nothing truly resolved it. Ultimately, the healing I needed didn’t come from a clinic or protocol. It came from learning how to listen to my body.
When It All Began
After returning to work as a massage therapist, I felt uninspired and restricted. Juggling motherhood, a hands-on career, and emotional overwhelm triggered symptoms: eczema, IBS, and anxiety. I felt numb, restless, and increasingly disconnected from myself. Despite having support and stability, I felt deeply unfulfilled—and haunted by an irrational fear that my husband might die, leaving me helpless and alone.
The more I tried to ignore these feelings, the louder they became. The eczema worsened. My sleep was broken. Frustration bubbled. I felt betrayed by my body and overwhelmed by its signals.
Following the Breadcrumbs to Real Healing
Then one day, my husband brought home Many Lives, Many Masters, a book that awakened something in me—a memory of the soul I had forgotten. That same week, an intuitive reading confirmed a truth I had long resisted: “You’re intuitive, and you’re going to use that gift to help others.”
It was surreal and deeply affirming. I left that bookstore feeling lighter, like the universe was nudging me toward something more meaningful.
Soon after, I found bio‑energy healing—a gentle, non‑invasive practice using hand movements to clear stagnant energy and restore natural flow. In my very first session, I experienced a wave of grief. I cried for the freedom I had lost as a new mother. Within months, I was training in Costa Rica to learn this work for myself.
I also discovered muscle testing, using the Emotion Code method to identify and release trapped emotions from childhood and ancestral trauma. Feelings of helplessness, grief, and control were locked into my body. As I acknowledged and cleared them, fear began to dissolve. I was rebuilding trust in life.
I later trained in PSYCH‑K®, a playful yet profound way of shifting beliefs and healing stress, also using muscle testing.
And eventually, I deepened into breathwork—a powerful, somatic and spiritual practice that helped regulate my nervous system and open space for emotional release. Conscious connected breathing became one of the most empowering tools in my healing.
Learning to Listen: Mindful Body Scans
I began practicing a mindful body scan—a somatic check-in tool rooted in mindfulness. Each day, I’d pause and notice: thoughts, images, movement, emotions, and sensations.
Instead of resisting the eczema, I got curious. Underneath the red skin, I discovered old emotions—despair, grief, and a deep sense of powerlessness. The eczema flared when I was under more stress, and I began to thank it for reminding me to slow down in those times.
One pivotal insight came when I realized the eczema’s location—my wrists—was where I was restrained during a childhood surgery. It was linked to a lifelong feeling of helplessness and to an early experience of sexual trauma. The day I spoke that truth out loud to my mom after over 25 years, I felt a huge weight lift from carrying this secret, and the eczema vanished overnight.
Healing the Past, Honouring the Lineage
Later, I traced my sudden fear of raising my kids alone back to my grandmother, who lost her husband suddenly and never recovered his body. She raised four children on her own, and the grief became part of our family’s emotional inheritance. I had been reenacting her story of helplessness, until I chose to rewrite it.
The Spacious Breath Is Born
This journey shaped my mission and redefined how I serve.
I trained in many healing modalities—bio‑energy healing, muscle testing, PSYCH‑K®, and others—and I carry their wisdom with deep gratitude. Each offered powerful lessons and insights that supported my own transformation.
But over time, I noticed what created the most sustainable, grounded shifts for myself and my clients: breathwork and mindfulness.
These practices bring people home to their bodies in the most direct and empowering ways I’ve witnessed. They regulate the nervous system, release stored emotion, and build lasting inner resilience.
Today, through in-person sessions, I support caregivers, empaths, and space-holders who feel depleted, disconnected, or overwhelmed. I offer a simple yet potent blend of breathwork, craniosacral therapy, and mindfulness—tools that meet people where they are and invite them into presence, safety, and clarity.
The Wisdom in the Wound
My eczema didn’t break me—it woke me up. It pushed me to slow down, get honest, and reconnect. It taught me how to listen to the deeper wisdom of my body. Without it, I never would have discovered the path I now walk or the people I’m honoured to walk with.
If you’re craving clarity, nervous system support, or a more grounded connection to yourself, I offer in-person sessions in a calm, welcoming space. I’d be honoured to support your healing journey.
You deserve to feel safe in your body—and to live a life that feels like your own.
